A common question is “How big should speed bumps be?” The answer will have a few variables but they should be between 2.25 and 3 inches tall. Generally speaking, 2.5” is a target and 2.75” for a more aggressive bump.

A proper installation and size will go a long way to making sure it lasts. Many ill designed speed bumps can be easily removed during snow clearing. Start from the base with a proper full bond coat and create enough width to ensure a proper approach angle for vehicles.
