Carbon Fibre

Glass and carbon fibre wrapping services. Strengthen concrete structures without bulk modifications and restrictions.

  • FRP or Fibre Reinforcing Polymers / Plastics are high tensile strength fabrics that can be saturated and adhered to a surface using epoxy. The high tensile stength of the fibers such as Carbon Fibre increase the bending and shear resistance to beams and slabs. The confinement properties of FRP add compression stength to post structures.

Carbon fibre product can be thought of addition or replacement to steel. CFRP has a tensile strength approximately 10 times that of steel.

  • FRP work can add strength without adding large structures to the existing one. It is commonly used in parkades to create strength upgrades without impeding vehicle clearances.

In buildings it is easily transported to an interior space and installed without reducing interior space needs.

It is a cost competitive solution vs concrete and steel work which can solve access issues and limit some impact to an existing structures operation.

  • Roaron Construction started CFRP installations in 2013 doing the first Western Canadian installation using Mapei Mapewrap products. We are approved installers for Mapei and Simpson Strong-Tie products.

We have close ties with design engineers to make sure you get a repair strategy that works. Blanket solutions are expensive and may not be needed.  We can assist in the evaluation and make sure a system that meets demands is installed.

FRP: Fibre Reinforcing Polymers

Strengthen - Renew - Build

FRP is common practise now for increasing the structural strength of structures and it's parts. The use of the fibre reinforcing polymers allows for strengthening without much modification to the structure. FRP has the ability to add a cardboard thin fabric bonded to the the surface to increase tensile strengths and load carrying capacities. It is used to increase bearing capacity and preserve life in failure events that could occur in natural disasters.

Roaron Construction is one of the first contractors in B.C. to embrace this technology and provide innovative solutions to our customers.
